The MSP 125th Anniversary Scholarship Fund was established by McRae, Smith, Peek in partnership with the Community Foundation for Greater Rome to support local students who aspire to pursue a legal career.

In celebration of the firm’s 125 years of service, this scholarship reflects a commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders who will serve their communities with integrity and professionalism.

Each year, two one-time, merit-based scholarships are awarded to graduating high-school seniors from Floyd or Polk Counties:

The Michael D. McRae Scholarship (male recipient), and

The Virginia Barrow Harman Scholarship (female recipient).

Award amounts are determined annually and may be used for tuition or other education-related expenses at an accredited college, university, or postsecondary institution. For 2026, we expect to give $2,000 to each recipient’s academic institution.

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who demonstrate academic achievement and a clear interest in pursuing a legal career.

A complete application includes a short essay describing the applicant’s interest in law, a resume or activity list, and one letter of recommendation.

Children of MSP employees or attorneys and children of Community Foundation for Greater Rome staff or Board members are not eligible.

Scholarship funds are awarded for one academic year and are paid directly to the recipient’s institution.

Application via Google forms will be open from February 2, 2026 - March 27, 2026.
